NAMI Support Group has helped me to have a place where I can be open in my feelings, thoughts, ideas with others having similar experiences. We learn from each other! We support each other, give ideas, nonjudgmental information sharing.
Meeting each week has been tremendously helpful. I have a safe place to discuss my issues and concerns and share my successes. Additionally, the facilitator lead discussions help me gain insight and perspective on the challenges I face.
It has given me the tools to find services to help myself and the understanding to give my loved ones a deeper understanding of mental illness so they can support me more effectively.
